Would you like to improve your English? Do you have genuine interest in children
and some childcare experience? Are you happy to help with some light housework and
childcare? You will have your own room and get a pocket money of £70-100/week for
25-35 hours of work + 2 babysitting/week. We will give you a list of other au pairs
in your area, help you find a language school and answer any questions you might
have. We are here to support you throughout the placement and offer a professional
advice and help if you encounter any problems. Please do not hesitate to contact
us as soon as you can in case if there is an issue and we’ll do our best to try to
help you to resolve it. If there’s anything you are not sure or unhappy about and
you don’t know how to approach the family about it, talk to us .We’re hear to listen
and help where possible. We will continue to support you throughout the placement
and will contact you after 1 week and than 1 month to make sure you’ve settled in
and happy with your host family.
To register as an au pair you need:
- 18-30 yrs old (can stay until 32 years old) single and without dependents
- Valid EU, EEA or Swiss passport or au pair visa, YMS scheme
- Some childcare experience and at least 2 childcare and personality references
- A letter (Dear family letter)-introducing yourself, your interests and why would
you like to be an Au pair
- Police check
- 2 passport size photos

Visa Information:
Au pairs can stay in the United Kingdom for two years.
1) EEA nationals
EU member countries are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, UK without restriction
Nationals of Malta, Cyprus, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia,
Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania need to register with Worker Registration
Scheme.
EEA countries are EU members plus Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein.Swiss nationals
are allowed to take au pair placements without restrictions.
2) Non EU countries –need a sponsor-government
You need to obtain 40 points to be able to come to UK under YMS-Youth Mobility Scheme.
It replaces the previous au pair visa.
Need to have a current, accessible balance of £1600 Additional work is allowed under
YMS visa condition if Au pair visa obtained before 26.11.2008-still valid.
Countries come under YMS-Youth Mobility Scheme: Australia, Canada, Japan,NZ, citizens
of British Territories, British overseas citizens and British Nationals.
Not part of government sponsoring scheme-Turkey, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Andorra,
San Marino, Monaco, Greenland.
